ALDS Game 1                                     ALCS Game 1                            World Series Game 1

ALDS Game 1 - Friday, October  4.  Rays 2, Red Sox 12.  Peter and I had a great time as the Sox rolled over Matt Moore the Rays.

The real fun started when Rays right fielder Wil Myers' miscue letting a fly ball drop behind him opened the door to Boston's five-run fourth inning and turned the momentum in Game 1 to the Fenway faithful. Jon Lester then cruised to victory.  After the game, we headed out to Yawkey Way and Peter was interviewed by at Boston Channel 5 reporter and put on the 11pm news that night.  In all, a great start to the Red Sox Playoff run.

ALDS Game 2 - Saturday, October  5.  Rays 4, Red Sox 7.

Charlie’s turn to go see the Sox in the Postseason.  This time, we had the “Tracy Seats” in the State Street Pavilion.  Stopping for a bite in the Pavilion Club, we then headed to our seats to watch David Price take on the Sox bats.
David Ortiz hit two solo home runs and chased Price out of the game in the 7th inning.  The damage was done; the Sox roll on to an easy victory and set themselves up for a possible sweep in Tampa Bay.

ALCS Game 1 - Saturday, October 12, Red Sox 0, Tigers 1.   Charlie and I set out for Fenway in the late afternoon.  Arriving in time to take in the American League Championship atmosphere; something we had not seen since 2008 when the Sox came back from a 7-0 deficit in the bottom of the 7th inning against the Rays.  This game was really hard to watch.  Anabal Sanchez had the Red Sox batters’ number, no-hitting our team into the 6th inning, spinning 1-0 shutout gem vs. John Lester.  The Sox bats were asleep.  We will be back for Game 2 tomorrow.

ALCS Game 2 - Sunday October 13, Red Sox 6, Tigers 5.  What began as another gut-wrenching episode of silent Red Sox bats, turned into one of the most All-Time memories for the Nation.  Once again, Max Scherzer no hits the Sox through six innings, so and until the magical bottom of the 9th, the feeling was one of utter despair.  We got something going and managed to
load the bases.  Benoit was in to face Papi.  One swing of the bat and a fruitless over the wall stab by Vernon Wells and the Sox tied the game 4 to 4.
Ecstasy restored to the improbable 2013 season.  One inning later, Salty hits the walk-off game-winning single.  Series tied; off to Detroit.

ALCS Game 3 - Saturday October 19, Red Sox 5, Tigers 2.  Matt Keller, my friend from London, joined me for an epic Pennant-Winner on Saturday night.  Sitting in the “Tracy Seats,” we saw a classic pitcher’s duel shutout through the first 4 1/2 innings.
Boston got the first run in the bottom of the 5th, with a Ellsbury RBI single to drive in Xander Bogaerts.  Detroit took the lead in the next frame with two runs when Franklin Morales truly spit the bit with some horrible pitching.  Luckily, we escaped the inning only giving up two runs.  The bottom of the 7th was the Sox magic moment.  Leadoff, Jonny Gomes doubled to Center, followed by a Xander Bogaerts walk.  Next, Ellsbury reaches first when Jose Iglesias commits an error at short.
Up steps Shane Victorino, with a monster Grand Slam over the wall.  2nd granny of the series.  Six more quick outs, and it’s game over.  On to the World Series!
