Citizen's Bank Park #19
Citizen's Bank Park #19

Monday, June 27, 9am - We slept in (a bit) and then took in a most-leisurely breakfast in the lounge. Met some really crunchy, but very nice, Vermont Sox fans during our hour on the top floor.
11:30 - Car packed, map ready. 302 miles to Philadelphia. 5 hours. WRONG. We encountered epic traffic problems driving eastward. Due to a really bad accident, the Pennsylvania turnpike was closed, forcing me to scramble for an alternative route. Essentially, we were forced to drive over 100 miles on a two lane mountain road, following trucks crawling uphill. Fortunately, the WiFi device worked well and the boys had connectivity to the rest of the world during our endless tour of central PA.
6 pm - We arrived the hotel, checked in, and took a cab to South Street for the most original Philly Cheese Steak (one allowed per lifetime) at Jim’s Steaks. After the meal, we cabbed back to the hotel and took a “midnight” swim in the pool.
6pm - Game gear on, we drive over to Citizen’s Bank Park and walk directly into the Cliff Lee buzz saw. The Sox had no answer whatsoever to Lee, recording 9 consecutive zeroes on the box score. Nice evening for a ballgame, though.
Philadelphia Phillies 5 vs. Boston Red Sox 0
Wednesday, June 29, 7am.
5pm. We dried off, had a quick nosh in the C-lounge and drove to Citizens Bank Park for Sox / Phillies II. Sox lost. Two games, and not a single Sox run. Tails between legs, we drove back to the hotel, and packed for BBT, Day 7.75
